Divinity of the Lasting Body

A sect of that originated from a group of heretics that refused to convert to more classic worship beliefs and practices. Their paranoid views have shaped their beliefs over time, leaning more toward the macabre and isolation from outsiders. This group is currently based in the wind-ravaged deserts, where they expertly traverse the dunes, plucking off wanderers before they are ever seen.

The Divinity revels in the inevitability of death, and thus strive to fill their lives with “beauty”. To them, beauty involves the ritual sacrifice of blood, close bonds with members of the group, blood sacrifice of their lessers (outsiders), and above ground vigils around their dead as the hot wastes mummify them slowly.

Their most sacred bonding ritual is when a great enemy is slain. The body is covered in their finest fabrics and carried on a ornately decorated, if crude, palanquin, and carried to the deepest chambers of the cave they shelter in at night. There, they offer the residing den of fleas their plunder, and share in consuming the corpse.
