Gang: The Sump Pumpers

Motto: "Look at that pump! Feel the burn! If the juice stops flowing, the Hive gets Gooey!"

The Sump Pumpers are a fanatical crew of mass & muscle who view Underhive maintenance as the ultimate holy warrior workout. Speaking in deep, booming, synchronized "Arnie" cadences, they believe their endless physical labor is the only thing keeping the Great Sump Spirit appeased. For them, "Pumping" has a sacred  two fold meaning: they must constantly pump iron to grow their massive frames, and they must constantly pump the toxic sludge mainlines to maintain the sump spirits balance. To look small, skip a workout, or let a hydraulic valve go dry is a sin that will cause the Sump to rise up and crush the Hive.

Their ultimate spirit animal is the legendary Sump Kroc. They revere it as the apex beast of the deep—the perfect embodiment of raw muscle, unstoppable forward momentum, and cold-blooded survival. Every Pumper aspires to be as thick-skinned and terrifying as a Kroc, often carving scrap-iron jaw plates onto their armor to mimic its bite.

The Reaction to "The Recede"

When the great hive-quake struck and the sludge basin suddenly drained, the Pumpers didn't celebrate. They completely panicked in a chorus of confused, muscular roars: "Where did the pump go?! It's not flowing! The Spirit is losing its gains!"

Their Shamans quickly came to a terrifying realization: they had either pumped too hard, or the hive's sins had caused the Sump Spirit to atrophy and shrink away. Seeing the dried-out toxic mud beds, they believe their god is suffocating and losing its mass.

To fix this, the Pumpers have gone into an absolute frenzy. They are sprinting across Sector-9 Gallows, treating the newly exposed terrain as a massive, high-stakes for Sump survival. They are violently seizing any remaining fluid lines, screaming at rivals to "Get to the pump!", and trying to force-feed the remaining toxic waste back into the deep fissures. And they will butcher anyone who stops them from giving their dying Sump god the ultimate, blood-soaked pump-up routine.
