Peace Enforcement unit
Overview
To create more streamlined operations, and to eliminate what little emotion remains within the ranks, every officer has abandoned their name in favour of a callsign. Individuality is a weakness. Every operative understands the risks of the job and accepts that they may never return. If maintaining order demands bloodshed, then so be it. Officially, they are known as a Peace Enforcement Unit. They do not enforce peace. They remove whatever threatens it. Whether the target is a starving worker, an armed gang, or a would-be revolutionary is irrelevant. Disorder is met with overwhelming force, and by the end of an operation there is often little left of either side. Unlike most Enforcer precincts, whose armour bears bright colour markings, this unit has adopted darker, fear inducing equipment and a more psychologically aggressive appearance. Their shields merge into an unbroken wall of blood red armour as they advance with practiced precision. They move as one, pushing beyond objectives before locking shields together to protect advancing officers from incoming fire and charging enemies alike. Every movement is deliberate, every breach rehearsed, every room cleared with ruthless efficiency. Even their Captain knows how difficult maintaining order will become as Hive Obitus approaches its Boiling Point. With external supply lines severed, every district grows more desperate by the day. Conventional patrols no longer achieve results. Instead, the precinct has begun developing a new operation known as "Home Invasion". Rather than waiting for gangs to spill into the streets, Enforcers now strike directly into gang-controlled habs, launching brutal decapitation raids intended to eliminate leadership before organised resistance can form. Yet even the Subjugators are beginning to struggle. Water has become more valuable than ammunition, forcing many officers to rely upon Dark Waters, a vast smuggling network distributing cheap "water substitutes" throughout the hive. Everyone knows its product is questionable. Everyone knows the operation should be dismantled. No one dares. As long as the survival of Hive Obitus depends upon Dark Waters, the state will look the other way. The klaxons sound once more. Shields are raised. Shotguns are loaded. Helmets seal shut.
Ready or Not, it is time for the unit to prepare their equipment and march back into the darkness of Hive Obitus.
