For those that toil in the House of Artifice, seeing little benefit from the teknical wonders of Van Saar but feeling it's cursed phage just as acutely, the theories of the disgraced Tech-Priest; Biologis Hermiatus seemed luminary. Indeed, for a few, the Ordo Xenos had been short sighted in their efforts to counter the Xeno infestation of Hive Secundus, when there was so much more it could offer the health addled House. Van Saar Prime; Weyland - saddled as a punishment for embarrassing the Clan House with managing a Rad weapon Artifactory - sought desperately for anything that could hold back the wasting phage that was consuming his workers more aggressively than even those bathed in the radiance of the Star Chamber. Archeotek and self-styled Bio-Magus; Yutani promised Weyland a secret cure locked up in the Xeno Biology of the Malstrain, and persuaded Wetland to lead a team into Hive Secundus hoping to retrieve genetic material that Yutani, could use to reverse the phage that plagues the House of Artifice. When the team returned, clearly battle ravaged by their expedition past the Dust Wall, it was not clear if they had been successful in their efforts. As of yet, no attempts at re-establishing contact with team by House Van-Saar has been successful. Though the fear is for the Second Scar Scions - the cure may be worse than the disease.

Wetland has told no-one (save perhaps Yutani?) what he did as a young Prime to earn a 'reassignment' to foreman of a toxic Rad weapon Artifactory. There he saw many promising young Subteks wasting away to creat the high-tek weaponry of the house, and wondered why non of Van Saar's brilliant mind could find a better way to hold on to their teknicratic dominance of Necromunda. It didn't take much for the rogue Archeotek and Bio-Magus Yutani to convince him to lead a band of his young and desperate workers into Hive Secundus and wager their wasting humanity on Yutani's experiments.

Yutani had the early and envious honour of being one of the youngest chosen to attain the rank of Archeotek, and he spent many of his all-too-short best years studying the mysteries of the Star Chamber and. The only thing that could take his attention away from the STC was Lynch, a brilliant young fellow mind Yutani fell in love with, but who's youthful beauty was being cruelty snatched away by House Van Saar's wasting curse, and the Rad phages of the Star Chamber. Seeking away to save his beloved, Yutani begane studying the forbidden theories of Biologis Hermiatus who had caught to find a 'cure' for the Xeno menace of GeneStealer corruption that infiltrated Imperial Worlds. Hermiatus would meet a grizzly end(?!) however and his research destroyed by the Ordo Xenus, and the Obliteratus bombardment by the Imperial Fist 7th company. Enraged by what he judged to be a corruption of a promising avenue of study, and then the Imperium's mindless destruction in the face of scientific advancement, Yutani began running secret tests on Xeno cultists in the Underhive, using himself as a test subject, the experiments only aggravated the Rad phage spreading through his body, forcing him to fashion cyberteknica to keep him alive. He quickly deemed the Pure-strain infection to be too dangerous to risk his own life and that of his partner, becoming convinced Hermiatus work should be resurrected to rid his House of their self inflicted curse. All he needed was a team of young Teks with nothing to lose to collect enough Malstrain specimens for his great works.

Considered the most successful, and the youngest of the Scions. Ixode shows little outward signs of the Xeno 'cure', but also no signs of the House curse. Neither seem to have contributed to the hard edge that offsets her youthful beauty. That hardness seems born out of feeling she has something to prove amongst the Scions, or perhaps a heighten aggression belying her hybrid origins.
