Seeking away to save his beloved, Yutani begane studying the forbidden theories of Biologis Hermiatus who had caught to find a 'cure' for the Xeno menace of GeneStealer corruption that infiltrated Imperial Worlds. Hermiatus would meet a grizzly end(?!) however and his research destroyed by the Ordo Xenus, and the Obliteratus bombardment by the Imperial Fist 7th company.

Enraged by what he judged to be a corruption of a promising avenue of study, and then the Imperium's mindless destruction in the face of scientific advancement, Yutani began running secret tests on Xeno cultists in the Underhive, using himself as a test subject, the experiments only aggravated the Rad phage spreading through his body, forcing him to fashion cyberteknica to keep him alive. He quickly deemed the Pure-strain infection to be too dangerous to risk his own life and that of his partner, becoming convinced Hermiatus work should be resurrected to rid his House of their self inflicted curse.

All he needed was a team of young Teks with nothing to lose to collect enough Malstrain specimens for his great works.

Considered the most successful, and the youngest of the Scions. Ixode shows little outward signs of the Xeno 'cure', but also no signs of the House curse. Neither seem to have contributed to the hard edge that offsets her youthful beauty. That hardness seems born out of feeling she has something to prove amongst the Scions, or perhaps a heighten aggression belying her hybrid origins.
