Data Purge 2025-10-16 #5

Gorn had been looking for a way to get a leg up on the competition.  So far his gang of mutants had been steadily growing and he had been facing off and defending his territories effectively.  Sloss' Folly and the Corpse Processing Plant remained firmly in Gorn's control, however he hadn't made any headway on other territories.

Something had to be done to give his gang an advantage.

He decided to seek out some Data Terminals to try and hack into the local Administratum databases and find out where other gangs were so he could potentially ambush them.

As his Champions were in the process of gaining access to the information, Varn, who had been put on lookout duty because of his Eye Stalks mutation which allowed him to be completely hidden and yet still what was happening around him, saw a gang shambling their way and signaled to Gorn of their approach.

Gorn immediately jumped into action, since the Hive had begun its decent into Chaos, he had to scramble to find food for his mutants.  He was able to feed about half of his gang and the rest would have to fend for themselves today.  

Those who hadn't gotten to eat he deployed to defend the left flank and he had hoped that their hunger would help in the coming fight.  He positioned Drax on top of an old fuel barrel with his Grenade Launcher and Sluggo, his new Mutated Ogryn friend would deploy on the right flank close to himself.

As the Nurgle Cult approached a noise filled the air.  A noise that everyone in Gorn's gang knew well and it was the flapping of tiny wings that flies usually made when they were circling piles of garbage.  This noise was similar to flies wings but amplified and unnerving.

Sluggo Flung himself at the Nurlge Cult's champion with heavy stubber assuming he would be an easy out, but Sluggo just wasn't connecting with his huge fists.  The Nurgle Ogryn then slammed into Sluggo with his Power Maul and Sluggo went out of action fairly quickly.

Varn, Laslo, Nester, Surry and Crysor all tried to deal with the huge Chaos Spawn approaching the left flank and Varn heroically held him off for a few turns until ultimately succumbing to the relentless barrage of tentacles and massage appendages that the spawn brought to bear.

Lurran went down and was lost after getting shot with a grenade launcher.

Scaley got taken out by a Nurlge Cultist's autogun.

Surry went out of action because of the Spawn as well.

Gorn finally got into the action and charged the mutated Ogryn, harming him but not killing the beast.  Gorn got knocked back out of combat allowing him to charge back in the next round but still couldn't fell the mutant.

At this point it felt that the Nurgle horde could not be stopped and their slow steady advance would eventually overwhelm Gorn's forces.  Gorn called a general retreat and they left the battlefield to lick their wounds.

They had lost one of their fighters, and Gorn was not happy about that he was looking for a brighter future for mutants not a darker one, but so far he hadn't had much luck.  This was only a minor setback he tried to tell himself. 

In the future he would be able to expand his foothold in this section of the hive, get a sponsor and some fans and hopefully show everyone what mutants are capable of.
