Overview

The Blue Roses are a fledgling Escher gang hoping to make their mark in the hive. Currently, they sell stimms to the residents of their turf, but they have aspirations of becoming a major force in House Escher's chem trade. For now, they bide their time, trying to increase their territory street by street, block by block.

In the Blue Roses, when a member takes the mantle of leadership of the gang and becomes the Queen, their birthname is stricken from the record and they become known only as LP, a moniker with unknown origins. The gang is under the leadership of their fifth LP, who has been their Queen for the last two years. As a young gang, the mortality rate for members is high, but there are now several gang mainstays who are solid matriarchs. The gang receives their chem shipments through a House Escher intermediary named Judy, who only has contact with the gang queen. Judy is shrouded in mystery, and the gang queen never shares information regarding the arrangement to any other members of the gang. In the parlance of the Blue Roses, "We don't talk about Judy."

The gang HQ is a bar named One-Eyed Jack's. The rowdy dive bar is the favored drinking hole of many smugglers, gangers, and misfits. The queen and matriarchs usually reside in the apartments above the bar, and in the basement lies The Red Room, where the Blue Roses' gather and meet when needed. The Red Room is closely-guarded and accessible only to gang members. It is known by its distinctive appearance, with walls lined in thick red velvet curtains, and the floor covered with a black-and-white pattern. While all are welcome at One-Eyed Jack's, anyone that causes trouble or threatens a Blue Rose quickly disappears, only to reappear days later dead in an alley, wrapped in plastic. Because of their involvement in the chem sales, the Blue Roses try to keep the peace with other local gangs, though they always have an eye on expanding their reach. They have have a tenuous alliance with a local Van Saar gang known as the Bookhouse Boys.

Despite their name, the Blue Roses wear a variety of bright eye-popping colors, as is the style of most Escher gangs. They typically will have a small blue icon somewhere on their clothing to signify their allegiance, and champions may also wear something that includes red or bears a black & white pattern as a nod to the Red Room. However, the little sisters of the gang are required to all wear identical uniforms, and are colloquially known as "tulpas" or "dopplegangers." Once they have proven themselves to the gang, they are considered full sisters, and may wear what they wish.
