Palanite Enforcer Kill-Detail, Zeta-9 Collapse Zone

The order came without preamble, without signature, and without the usual chains of authorization.

A single transmission, stamped with the sigil of High Command:

“By final authority, compliance is no longer required. Judgment is.”

That message became known as The Last Edict.

The squad that received it took the name as their own.


Once, they were a standard Enforcer detail—Precinct-aligned, regulation-bound, accountable. They enforced curfews, broke up riots, and ensured tithe quotas were met. They believed in the structure of the Hive, in its laws, in its permanence.

Zeta-9 broke that belief.

When the vox went dark and the Guilders fled, the chain of command fractured. Orders contradicted each other. Reinforcements never came. Entire sectors vanished from official records as if they had never existed.

And then came the Edict.


Now, The Last Edict no longer arrests.

They do not process prisoners. They do not file reports. There is no tribunal, no appeal, no record of judgment beyond the smoking ruin left behind.

They move through Zeta-9 like a sentence already carried out.

Hab-blocks suspected of contamination are sealed and burned. Sump-crawlers are shot on sight. Corpse-grinder cultists are not merely killed—they are erased, their butcher-works destroyed with excessive, almost ritual violence. Even Redemptionists, once tolerated as useful zealots, are gunned down when their fires spread beyond control.

To the people of Zeta-9, the distinction between criminal and citizen has blurred into nothing.

All are subject to the Edict.


Their command structure has… simplified.

At their head stands Enforcer Captain Elia Vorn, a figure rarely seen outside of full carapace armor, her helm lenses glowing dimly through the haze. She speaks only in clipped, formal declarations, as if every word is still being recorded somewhere far above.

Some say she still believes High Command is listening.

Others say she knows it isn’t—and continues anyway.


The squad operates out of a mobile strongpoint known only as The Writ, an armored crawler that grinds slowly through the underhive, broadcasting a constant, looping vox-message:

“Compliance opportunity expired. Sentence in effect.”

No one knows who authored the Edict.

No one knows if it was meant for Zeta-9 alone.


But in the depths below Level 400, where the lights have died and the screams carry through the vents…

The Last Edict is the only law that remains.
