Throughout the churning districts of practically every hive in the Imperium, transport is a dull affair. In the short, miserable life of a menial, their only experience of it is the decrepit and overcrowded trams that corral them back and forth to their assigned labour, twice a day, every day, until their inevitable demise. No wonder then, that gangers seek something more exhilarating: the thrill of speed, the danger of the hive's confined spaces and the treachery of the Ash Wastes. There is a thriving underground racing circuit on Necromunda where those who have rejected a life of forced labour jockey for position and prestige on the Sump Speedway.
