Origins in the Shadows of Hive Euryale

Amidst the upheaval that has shaken Necromunda to its core, the Malignants have clawed their way from the darkness beneath Hive Euryale’s imposing towers. With the Helmawr dynasty ousted from the throne of Hive Primus by the resurgent House Aranthus, the world has been thrown into uncertain times. However, within the serpentine tunnels and labyrinthine wastes of Hive Euryale, the ancient power of House Helmawr lingers, and with it, the nightmares society would rather ignore.

Born of the hive’s neglect and cruelty, the Malignants are a congregation of mutants, outcasts, and forgotten kin bound beneath the scaled banner of Lady Malignus. Once hunted for their deformities, they now wield them as marks of dominion. Their leader’s sinuous form and baleful bionic eye have become icons of defiance — a promise that the hive’s monsters have learned to strike back.

The Reign of Lady Malignus

At the heart of the Malignants stands their leader, the fearsome and enigmatic Lady Malignus, whose very presence commands both terror and devotion. Towering over her kin, Lady Malignus is a vision of mutant power: her lower body is an immense, scaled serpent’s tail, muscular and coiled, capable of crushing foes or carrying her with swift, silent grace through Euryale’s labyrinthine tunnels. This sinuous form allows her to strike from the shadows, her movements as hypnotic and lethal as the legendary beast for which the hive is named.

Her most haunting feature is a baleful red bionic eye, set into her mutated visage. This mechanical orb glows with an unholy crimson light, scanning the darkness and unmasking secrets with its enhanced sensors. Rumours amongst the Malignants whisper that the eye sees into the very soul, and that none who betray her ever escape its gaze. The bionic implant was a mark of both sacrifice and survival—torn from her by Helmawr zealots in a brutal attempt to break her spirit, only for Lady Malignus to return, more dangerous and unyielding than ever.

Her leadership is absolute. Cunning, ruthless, and fiercely protective of her mutant kin, Lady Malignus is both matriarch and warlord. She weaves her influence through the underhive much as she moves: with patience, lethal intent, and an instinct for opportunity. To her followers, she is the living embodiment of Euryale’s myth—a monster to some, a messiah to others, and the architect of the Malignants’ rise from hunted outcasts to true power in the toxic dark.

The Serpent Stirs

In the wake of the upheaval across Necromunda, the Malignants have emerged from the depths of Hive Euryale as both a warning and a promise. Under Lady Malignus’s command, the outcast mutants struck back at their oppressors, seizing forgotten tunnels, sump-shafts, and half-collapsed shrines as their new dominion. Their sigil—the coiled serpent—now marks walls once scrawled with prayers for purity, a sign that Euryale’s forsaken children have reclaimed the dark.

The hive above may shift and war for thrones, but in the depths, a quieter conquest unfolds. The Malignants gather relics, weapons, and rumours of ancient Helmawr tech buried in the subhive vaults—secrets that could tilt the balance of power. Lady Malignus calls it the Serpent’s Birthright, and those who follow her believe it is more than a myth. To them, she is not just a leader but a prophecy made flesh: the monster the hive created to devour its sins.

The gang moves with patience and precision. Ambush, misdirection, and sudden overwhelming strikes define their style. Their weapons are scavenged, their armour patchwork, but their unity is absolute. To betray them is to invite a slow and certain death beneath the hive.

Among the underhivers, the Malignants are spoken of in hushed tones — part nightmare, part revolution. Whether they fight for vengeance, survival, or something far older lurking in the myth of Euryale, none can say. Towering above those she commands, Lady Malignus is a spectacle of mutant might, her lower body transformed into a coiling, scaled serpent’s tail. With sinews rippling beneath iridescent scales, she glides silently through the labyrinthine tunnels of Euryale, her movement both hypnotic and swift, a silent predator never far from the shadows.

Aema & Toma - Underhive Outcasts Hive Scum (Ganger)

Aema & Toma are the younger brothers of Karsyn & Noma, sharing the same unsettling twin‑headed mutation — though in their case, Toma’s head emerges from Aema’s chest rather than his shoulder. The pair also possess two right arms, each controlled independently, giving them an unpredictable, lopsided fighting style that wrong‑foots even seasoned underhive killers. Aema is the calmer of the two, his main head watchful and quietly spoken, while Toma is louder, impulsive, and always eager to prove he’s the “better” head. Their constant bickering echoes down the tunnels, but in a fight their coordination becomes uncanny, each arm working to cover the other’s blind spots.

Flaps - Underhive Outcasts Hive Scum (Ganger)

Flaps is a wiry, sharp‑eyed mutant whose vast wing‑membranes let her glide silently through the underhive. More shadow than woman when she’s airborne, she uses her altitude to scout ahead or drop down on foes in a blur of leathery wings.

A former pit‑worker who survived by salvaging blasting charges, she now carries improvised explosives and an instinct for where to place them for maximum devastation. Quiet and observant, she serves as the gang’s aerial saboteur, her sudden dives often marking the start of a very loud ambush.

Freckles - Underhive Outcasts Hive Scum (Ganger)

Freckles is named for the angry, purple angiomas that cover her body—painful to look at, fatal to touch. Her toxic blood mutation means even a scratch can prove deadly to an opponent. Mocked and shunned by most, Freckles has found a twisted sort of kinship among The Malignants, where her curse has become her weapon and her bitter wit is as sharp as her axe.

Despite his rough demeanour, he is fiercely protective of his gangmates.

Claude - Mutated Ogryn (Brute)

Claude is a massive cyclopean Ogryn with a beard so vast it practically has its own postcode. His left arm is a hulking, chitin‑plated crushing claw capable of tearing through bulkheads and unwise rivals alike.

Despite his intimidating bulk and singular staring eye, Claude is a gentle, loyal soul who found belonging among the Malignants after being abandoned by his former employers. In battle he charges forward like a living battering ram, laughing thunderously as his claw clears the way for the rest of the gang.

Karsyn & Noma - Underhive Outcasts Hive Scum (Ganger)

This two-headed mutant is an inseparable pair—Karsyn, the pragmatic, world-weary main host, and Noma, the more boisterous head who juts from Karsyn’s left shoulder and controls the left arm. Noma is convinced of her own beauty, often picking fights with anyone who dares contradict her. Their bickering provides comic relief, but their coordination in battle makes them a formidable foe, covering each other’s blind spots with unnerving synchronicity.
